The company’s public relations officer Shashikant Ojha said that 35-year-old Rohit Singh, a resident of village Bakeli, climbed the 45-metre high tower of the power grid due to some domestic dispute. There he was trapped in the insulator and hanged. On receiving the information, all the administrative officers including the collector reached the spot to rescue the young man. As soon as the information was received, Assistant Engineer Monish Uikey posted in Shahdol and Chachai of Power Transmission Company also reached the spot with the entire team and necessary materials.

Ojha told that, without delay, Sunil Patel, Ramdayal Mehra and Shravan Kumar of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company climbed into the coal tower and supported Rohit Singh, hanging with the help of insulators, with a safety belt and rope, Ojha said. By tying a rope around their waist, they slowly lowered them down from the tower. This work was extremely risky as the 400 kV line was not discharged and at such times there is a complete danger of induction on this line. But the company’s personnel completed this work with the help of their experience of working in the hot line.

He told that with their efficiency, the employees of the company have set a new example of humanity. Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar has appreciated the work efficiency and devotion of the employees doing the rescue operation.
