Shenyang Transformer Company has shipped the first high-end transformer product for the Baihetan-Jiangsu ±800kV UHVDC transmission project.

“This high-end transformer required to serve the Baihetan-Jiangsu ±800kV UHV DC transmission project is the first time that TBEA Shenyang has developed a ±800kV converter transformer with a 5% increase in network-side voltage on top of meeting the latest targets proposed by the State Grid Corporation. Compared with the original high-end converter transformer, the new product is designed and tested separately for the network outlet device according to the insulation level of the network bushing, and the voltage on the network side is increased by 5% for the first time, and the transformer needs 1.1 times the long-term overload requirements.

The Baihetan-Jiangsu ultra-high voltage DC transmission project is a key project in the national “west-east power transmission” strategy. It is a key project for the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the development of the western region and the strategy of “west-east power transmission”. It is also one of the projects to make up for the shortcomings in the infrastructure sector.
